About Me

dirt is a new San Francisco queer arts quarterly magazine. We want dirt to give a voice to queer artists, activists, filmmakers, fashion designers, photographers, and writers as well as our heroes and role models who inspire movement within our communities. We want to create space, awareness, and representation without boundaries through a visual and written medium that will document our queer histories. The first issue of dirt is slated to be released in early 2007…
Every issue will have a featured theme and our premiere issue's theme is h o m e. This is what you can expect from dirt.h o m e
• Feature photo essay on SF queer households • Interview with John Cameron Mitchell about his new movie, Shortbus, and his thoughts on home, finding connection and the real New York City • Interview with Shine, SF based porn director of Crashpad and Superfreak • Four submission based columns that showcase local SF stories, photos, advice and ideas about h o m e • The dirt picks for hot films, music, art and more
