About Me

Born in the wilds of Northern Kentucky, I was given my first guitar by an uncle whom I have no reason to believe meant me harm. I grew up on a mix of John Denver, gospel, and the Doobie Brothers. High school choir, musical plays, and marching band left their own unique chisel marks on the mold of my warped musical character. I studied voice and music education at Morehead State University, then received a Masters in Music Education from the University of Kentucky, which lead to a 15-year stint of shaping young minds in the public school system. The bands in which I've played through the years are difficult to count, but include the usual variety dance bands (I've played lots of receptions and barmitzvas), White Johnny and the Spine Poodles (Prog-punk), East 60 (country), and Fuego Latino (Latin explosion). Currently I'm performing with Caribbean Blues (Island), Whisper Garden (literary blues), and The Sensations (variety dance), as well as performing solo with my acoustic guitar. I write and record more original music today, with influence from storytellers such as John Hiatt and Jimmy Buffett. My passion is performing music the audience wants to hear and playing songs that inspire them to sing along. MyGen Profile Generator
