[aka miguel] had his debut as a dj at 11 years of age playing at friend’s birthday parties. By then the mix would combine Technotronic’s classic ‘Pump up the Jam’ with The Cure and Faith No More songs, all done in his mother’s home hi-fi system and recorded on K7 [tape].
In 1995 dubuddha started consuming electronic frequencies, listening to the likes of Plastikman, Dave Clark, Green Velvet, Jeff Mills and others. After producing a series of events and free parties in Lisbon (probably the 1st progressive trance party in Portugal, Voodoo Freaks 1999), Miguel decides to look for new sources of inspiration and moves away from the sunny south into the rainy and drizzly north of Europe. Amidst London’s diverse musical input and a worldwide cultural influence dubuddha starts messing around with London’s vibrant dance floors, playing extravagantly upbeat dj sets of world fusion reggae soul and deep groove electronica in chill out and alternative stages and later making the crowds dance [even more] to his minimal techno dj sets. ….the year was 2002…
Producer and resident dj @ one of London’s most eclectic underground party [Sundelic by Urban Nomads 2003/2006] Miguel dj’s on a weekly basis in clubs, parties and cultural events around London [café 1001, unit 7, project 142]. His portfolio also includes impeccable minimal tech sessions in international stages, dj’ing in festivals such as Sonica [Italy], Yoshi’s @ Boom [Portugal], and ROP [Morrocco]. dubuddhas’s music embraces glitchy, psychedelic beats with dense bass atmospheres and elegantly mellow sonorities of minimal techno. If it’s quirky and jacks the body he will spin it!
Constantly on the move, 2007 proved to be a busy year for Dubuddha with several gigs facing the arabian sea in the beaches of Goa, a delightful techno session @ Sonica 2007 [italy] playing alongside Monolake, Rhythm & Sound and Deadbeat...and an array of bookings in London and outside the UK..2008 can only be better...[please check thiSpace for updates]
