We're the Successful Failures

About Me

"With their fab merging of crunchy power-chord pop and Stonesy drive, these Jersey rockers, with Mick Chorba of Dipsomaniacs fame leading the charge, are one of the best bands going. One listen to the rousingly infectious "All I Can Take" will hook you" (Pop Culture Press Magazine, Austin, TX, 2008).

"In short, Ripe for the Burning", brings back everything great about organic, roaring, kicking, melodic 80's indie-rock, from the Libertines/U.S. (what with the roots), to Big Dipper, Tim-era Replacements, etc… (and nowadays Sloan). Factor in the humor of "Niki Zerenberg" (a teenage fanzine dude) and "Never Moving Out" (sorry, mom!), and the deal's sealed. Ripe is one heck of a great-fun LP, perfect to sing along to – "burned" or bought" (Jack Rabid in The Big Takeover May 2008).
The New Jersey indie-rock / garage-pop band The Successful Failures have released a furiously melodic new album. Ripe for the Burning, SF’s 2nd full length CD, follows closely their 2006 self titled debut CD and their 2007 5 song EP - Bridges Over the Delaware.

In the three years since the band formed, SF has been busy - though they've made a home in Philadelphia the band has played shows all over the North and South East and as far west as Tennessee.

Most of the new album was recorded late at night in the middle of NJ at the FDR Studio B complex. It was mixed in Baltimore, MD by Drew Mazurek (Jawbox, Love Nut, Linkin Park). Track 2, “All I Can Take”, was recorded and mixed in lovely Knoxville, TN by Don Coffey Jr. (Superdrag drummer turned producer).

Ripe for the Burning enjoyed a successful radio campaign in the winter of 2007 and 2008 charting on college radio stations in the U.S. Northeast region. The band has also picked up an overseas following with air play on several "power-pop / indie-pop" flavored European podcasts and radio stations.

In 2008 SF is planning several regional tours including a sojourn to Chicago, IL and Madison WI in April and a tour with Mic Harrison (formerly of Superdrag and V-Roys) of several southern cities including Richmond and Arlington, VA in July of 08.
Ripe for the Burning, 12 songs (2007)
Bridges Over the Delaware, 5-song EP (2007)
The Successful Failures, 12 songs (2006)
