bio:
Hola! Jonathan Clay here... I guess there are a lot of artists with snazzy 3rd person bios written in this section, but I felt like that would be a little weird. It's not like I'm not on here all the time, so why have a bio that sounds like it's not even me?
Here's my (abbreviated) story: I was born in Houston, Texas (April 3rd, 1985) and lived there until I was 18. I reluctantly went to college in San Marcos, TX and attended Texas State University. I didn't realize it then, but that period of time was crucial for me getting my feet under me and learning to play for people. My junior yr. of college, it started to get pretty tough to balance music and school. I decided it would be best to pursue something I had passion for, and try to make my way doing what I loved. I'm 23 now, and I feel so blessed to be where I am today. Long story short, I played around Texas for about a year. After that, I put together a tour with two other indie artists, saw the country, and played 6 nights a week for over a month. It was AMAZING! The good, the bad, the ups, and the downs. It was seriously incredible to see the faces and meet the people who support my music from 1000 miles away. It was pretty surreal. Nearing the end of tour, I was approached by a major label. To make another (somewhat) long story short, I moved to New York for a while, met some amazing people, and had a blast. Im now living in Austin, TX and have realized first hand that there is "no place like home". Life has been amazing and crazy all at the same time. Thanks a lot for stopping by! Hope you'll come back soon.
JCPlease support indie music! If you like what you hear coming out of the music player, head on over here (www.jonathanclay.com) and pick up a CD. You can also download it from iTunes. If you can't do that, pass my name along to a friend. Every little bit definitely helps! :-)Jonathan
