Porter Wagoners' songs will carry on in us like
an everlasting sunset. I had spoken with Porter
just a few days before his 80th birthday to
record this interview. What was meant to be a
one hour feature promoting his new Wagonmaster
CD, has instead been rewritten into a special
one-hour-farewell tribute for a gentleman who
spent his lifetime creating for us, and in his
words proclaimed, "It's the best album I've
made in my whole career."
I promise that you won't be alone if a few
tears suddenly fall from your eyes as he sings.
Don't miss these last words of this country
legend. Porter was a man who wrote us a
collection of unforgettable songs during his
decades of struggles and victories to reach
his dreams. Porter taught me his greatest
gifts were not only his songs to the world,
but during this last interview with me, he
showed me he was a messenger of heavenly
love; he was the Wagonmaster of these Stories
Last Shared. God Bless you Porter Wagoner

Archives available for download to subscribers of BBS Radio, and will eventually be posted on www.LisaLC.com.NEWS SE MINNESOTA FLOODING GOVERNOR PAWLENTY DECLARES SIX COUNTIES A STATE OF EMERGENCY: Six confirmed dead in two counties.
Check back as Lisa brings you updates on Monday 8/20/07 from Rochester, Minnesota and Elba, Minnesota.
Lisa's raw footage aired on KTTC NEWS and FOX 47, and BBS Radio on featuring the interviews with Mayor of Elba, MN, Donny Ball and some area residents.Rochester, MN, (Lisa's Walk The Talk Show) August 19, 2007-- Six Lives Claimed as Flooding Continues in SE Minnesota. On Sunday, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty traveled to SE Minnesota, declaring six counties a state of emergency, calling in 2 Black Hawk Helicopters and 240 National Guardman.
Lisa's Walk The Talk Show has gathered scenes and inside stories of the residents in the flooded town of Elba, Minnesota, including interviews with Mayor Donny Ball and his wife Judy. (POSTING THIS WEEK on BBS Radio.) Lisa's raw footage of the flooded town of Elba, MN aired Sunday night 8/19/07, just an hour after being filmed, on KTTC and Fox 47 out of Rochester, MN.
According to Bob Reinert, Winona County Administator and spokesman for the county's emergency operation center. Six people are confirmed dead in this flood, two people have died in Houston County who were swept in raging waters, and four people died in Winona County. Four more people remain missing tonight and at least eight RV campers were still afloat on the raging Whitewater River as Winona County Sheriff Department and National Guardsman continue door-to-door checks.
Governor Pawlenty has declared a state of emergency in six counties in SE Minnesota: Winona, Fillmore, Olmsted, Wabasha, Steele, Houston. 75 National Guardsman arrived today in Winona County with up to 240 to arrive by Monday, as well as two Black Hawk Helicopters to help in search, rescue, and flood relief efforts.
The American Red Cross has set up shelters across the area of the counties affected.
"With the chopping swirl of a Black Hawk Helicopter above searching the Whitewater River; I looked for people and their stories on the road. Behind blooming thistle and a drifting-watermelon, flood waters raged the banks of the river near the Lazy D Campground, and as I snapped my shutter I overheard someone passing by me that they were still looking for eight RV campers. As I stood up and walked onward to the town that has fed me with smiles, and friendships, and laughter these past three years while covering my documentaries I have to admit, I had a hard time walking on to document what was ahead because the images only grew worse as the flood scenes intensified ahead."
One of those interviewee's the Mayor of Elba, Donny Ball, who I found driving through flooded roads on a huge riding mower. I asked him, 'Donny, what do you have to say to your people here, what happened?"
Donny looked down, then up, and nodded confident in his answer, "It's an act of God, that's what it is, an act of God. What would you call it Lisa?"
As I interviewed residents of Elba, others canoed by, or rode ATV's through flooded streets to reach their destinations.
There were canoes 'parked' at The Elba House, and at The Bike Shed on Main Street which is normally lined with hundreds of Harley Davidson's on any given Sunday, by those stopping by for a drink at either the well known Johnny's Saloon, or Mauer Brothers.
"I'll be back on Monday to find more stories, and document the 'sense of community.' I'm also anxious to move beyond flood roads in search of the bald eagles on my documentary project. I've spent three years documenting their five eaglets over the three nesting seasons. I fear they may have fallen victim to the raging Whitewater River, which swallowed up the river bank cutting it almost to their nest tree, during a spring flash flood."
"The last images I have were Saturday afternoon in a steady downpour the male eagle flew in with a fish and dropped it into the nest where one of his 17 week old twins waited. Afterwhich, he flew to a perch and tossed his head back calling out. Maybe he was trying to tell me of the impeding flood. This is the second flash flood to hit their nest area this year." added Loucks-Christenson.
Check back as Lisa brings you updates on Monday 8/20/07 from Rochester, Minnesota and Elba, Minnesota.

Excerpts:
Article on Lisa in the Post-Bulletin Rochester, Minnesota 6/13/07
ELBA -- In the next few years, you'll be able to sit in your recliner, sip a cup of coffee, and enjoy crisp, startling images of bald eagles raising their young, mosquitoes feeding on the blood of a frog and wildflowers in the heart of the Whitewater Valley.
Savor them, enjoy the work of Lisa Loucks Christenson of Rochester. But know that she went through more than a year of mud and mosquitoes, cold and fog, snow and heat to get them.
You should also know that she loved it, enjoyed the daily trip to the valley in snowstorm and fog, relished slithering through muck to sneak up on a frog, and waiting for hours to get a shot of an eagle.
She has fallen in love with the area around the former town of Beaver in the heart of the Whitewater Wildlife Management Area, the largest block of public land in southern Minnesota.
To get the images, she has gone to the same two marshes near Beaver for more than a year. It's a form of time-lapse photography, only she shoots the same tree (and on the same trip, the same cornfield and barn) and other details daily, along with anything else that catches her eye.
In the past two years, Christenson has also followed two eagles as they raise their young.
To do all of it has required several digital cameras and a lot of clothing. Last week, she wore faded camouflage pants and shirt, and her hair was wrapped in a red bandana. It's not fashionable, but when you're slopping through a marsh and plowing through nettles taller than you are, fashion fades, and reality rules.
She gladly wears that gear in summer, and dresses for minus-30 ("I literally felt like a walking marshmallow") in winter to get pictures for two books on eagles and a third book on a year in the life of two marshes. The one eagle book is due out in October, while the marsh book is due in April 2007, she said. The second eagle book will come out later. . . .

Wabasha, MN (PRWeb) March 9, 2007 -- SOAR WITH THE EAGLES WEEKEND at The National Eagle Center is this weekend March 10th and 11th. Lisa Loucks Christenson will be the first speaker of the day on March 10th, 2007, discussing her eagle journey, now in its third year, with the same pair of bald eagles raising their offspring.
Says Loucks-Christenson, "I'm offering the attendee's first peek at my rare and never-before-seen shots of the sibling eagles lives I documented, both on and off the nest." Loucks-Christenson was able to locate the eaglets for over ten weeks daily, after fledging and she continued their story for her second book on eagles, "Year Two Dancer & Daedee: Epiphany Season." Loucks-Christenson began her third book on this eagle pair in January of 2007, and visitors at The National Eagle Center will be the first to see the eagles survival in the wild while enduring -45 below with wind-chills, winter storms, blizzards, and the start of 2007's nesting season.
"I wanted something that said 'survival' so I started a month earlier this year, and have been out there documenting the eagles, and wildlife while temperatures hit -45 below with wind chill for almost three weeks we had that cold snap. Then we got hit with a blizzard that lasted two days, and following that, another winter storm. The snow is up to my waist in some spots as I hike to my posts. Almost forty days into the project--I have my shots that speak 'survival'. I hope people will look at my work and see that it's not easy for these animals and birds out there," Loucks-Christenson added.
Lisa Loucks Christenson is a national-award winning author & photographer based out of Rochester, Minnesota. Lisa recently completed her Walk the Burn documentary in the Whitewater Management Area. She's eager to share her stories for stalking and blending in with her subjects habitat allowing her to capture their daily lives in the wetlands. As a bonus, Lisa will give you an intimate look at the private lives of a pair of bald eagles raising their offspring during her three year journey.

POST-BULLETIN Rochester, Minnesota 12/8/07 Bring on the bugs Frozen, but living, wonderland pulls photographer
". . . The bug book is the first of several books Loucks-Christenson wil produce from daily visits to the the marsh for nearly two years. . . . Her visits ended last month during the region's first big snow of the year, on Nov. 10. Just a month before, she'd watched the cycle of life come to a close with a wasp, who'd crafted a nest and nurtured nine babies to life and beyond and then settled to the cold October ground eventually convered in the snow of the season.
"I saw this wasp nest and watched these nine babies from the beginning," Loucks-Christenson said. "I gave them water off my fingernail. I was only stung once by one of the babies. . . At one point, the nest came down, so I tied it up with a grass blade and eventually that mamma cemented it up."
That is what is so interesting about Loucks-Christenson's up close and personal shots of lifes' little things. There's a story behind every image. Loucks-Christenson can relate them as if though it was yesterday. Her journalls keep the dates, data and observations straight.:
"We had a winter storm with five to nine inches coming in, and schools were canceled the next day, but I still had to go. I had bugs to find. The minus -29 with wind chills set in over the next few days but still I found life: a Wooly bear caterpillar scratched up by a coyote, -29 below on the 19th (..hree red velvet mites -29 below on the 20th."
The gallery exhibit kicks off the publication of "Winter Bugs!" Which also marks the beginning of a string of books slated for publication . . . by Mike Dougherty Post-Bulletin

365 Day Controlled Burn Marsh Documentary Completed!
Lisa Loucks-Christenson, a Rochester, Minnesota native, completed her 365 day documentary on April 7, 2006. Loucks-Christenson’s book, WALK THE BURN: A 365 Day Journey, will be available in Spring 2007. Loucks-Christenson documented over 400,000 images during this daily documentary regrowth of a controlled burn marsh in the Whitewater Management Area in Altura, Minnesota. The book is both a photo essay of the flora and fauna in the marsh returning and a diary of the marsh shown from the marshes perspective. Two exhibits are planned, WINTER BUGS! opens Winter 2006 and is a collection of over 250 species of insects Loucks-Christenson documented while in the marsh during Winter 2005-2006. Many of these species are as small or smaller than a grain of sand. The second exhibit, Walk The Burn: A 365 Day Journey, is a photo collection opening in Spring 2007 to promote the release of her book.

HELP LEO FIND HIS "HEART SONG CAMPAIGN"
True. This is my parrot of 22 years and he loves music! For two years he has sat listening while I've reviewed your CDs, if he dances while it's playing, you're still in. (kidding) Make Leo Dance! Send me your best songs! He dances for peanuts. In fact, if you go to McDonalds and order a hot fudge sundae, they'll usually ask, "Would you like nuts with that?"
Answer, "YES! I'm sending them to Leo."
C'mon after 22 years of shelling out peanuts, shouldn't he get a nice, nifty, perfectly shelled peanut package, ah, after his Big Mac?"
Send your songs or McDonald's peanuts to:

. . . morePete Anderson was my co-host for my Lisa's Walk The Talk Shows' New Year's Day 2007 Indie Artist Countdown!
Who is Pete Anderson?
Pete Anderson is one of the rare musicians to which that term aptly applies. After more than 30 years in the music business and countless hit records as a producer, guitarist, and songwriter, Anderson has earned a place among many of the significant figures who have influenced popular music. With his third solo album, DAREDEVIL, Anderson demonstrates his unique talent for melding a variety of musical genres to create a series of beautifully-crafted instrumentals – which, as a whole, come together to create an album of unsurpassed “cinematic†scope. This is music in 3-D!
DAREDEVIL is the latest creative effort by a Grammy Award-winning artist/producer/businessman, who has blazed a number of musical trails, garnering both critical acclaim and sales success. As a producer, Anderson is responsible for recordings which have sold over 30 million units worldwide. His groundbreaking work with Dwight Yoakam helped ring in the “new traditionalist†movement in country music – while crossing over to a wider audience in the rock, pop, and blues worlds. He has also been responsible for highly touted projects by such artists as Roy Orbison, k.d.lang, Flaco Jimenez, Buck Owens, Lucinda Williams, Jim Lauderdale, Rosie Flores, Michelle Shocked, the Meat Puppets, the Backsliders, the Lonesome Strangers and Thelonious Monster, among others. As a guitarist and solo artist, Anderson has been lauded as a world-class musician who has influenced a generation of axe-slingers through his melding of country, blues, honky-tonk, and jazz technique. With the formation of his own independent record label, Little Dog Records, over 10 years ago, Anderson proved to be prescient in recognizing the challenges the record business would eventually face by creating an environment where he could record truly talented artists without the financial pressures experienced by the majors.Profile edited with: CricketSoda Myspace Profile Editor
