My sister is a lesser-known actress named Julia Roberts. Before I acted in films I did soap operas. In a 1981 car accident I was seriously injured and spent 3 days in a coma. My left hand ring finger was permanently disfigured. This car crash was something of a double-edged sword, as it also led to my facial features having that "rough" look that added to the depth of my characters.As a child I had a serious stuttering problem which I found I could overcome by memorizing my speeches ahead of time.After graduating the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London I became a hardcore method actor. This led to some personal problems as I found it hard to seperate my life from on and off camera. My habit of smoking weed every day didn't help matters. In 1987, I got high on coke and got arrested for harassing a woman and trying to fight a cop. They shouldn't have been fucking with me. Anyways I had to spend a couple nights in jail. The next few years kind of sucked for me as I descended into a world of drugs and self-loathing.In 1995 one day I was kind of sitting around in my apartment, I was hungry. So I went to the fridge and all I had in there was half of a week old pizza and a quart of expired milk. I stood there staring into the fridge for a while, and it was like a living metaphor for what my life had become at that point. I mean, I could have put anything into that fridge that I wanted to. If I had bothered, I could have had the healthiest and tastiest foods you could think of in there. Instead I had garbage. That's how my life was going. I could have a solid career, happy family, positive attitude. I had given it up for fucking drugs, self-hate and shit friends. It had to stop.So life has been cool since then, I'm finding my little comfortable niche in the acting field and some of my past work now has gained a cult following so I feel like I'm making my mark. Just about everything's fine.
