Shivering Plains, a side project conceived by Juho N, capture raw yet tranquil tunes. Hailing from the snowy plains of Finland..s western coastlines and the labyrinth of south-western archipelago, the duo combines elements rising from their original folk heritage, along with some improvisational brainstorming.
Imagine year 1986, people gathered to hum humble and dim tunes, eventually sung with passion on a gaunt island filled with grey rocks. The breeze is fresh and the sun doe not set...until it drifts off to inevitable winter sleep.
A brittle wooden cross is surrounded by a heavy pile of rocks casted by wanderers. The grey pile turns white as the long months of sleeping nature take over. The verses of Zion Kantele remain, still floating in the brisk air with splashes of salt water.
The yet short timeline of Shivering Plains started during the autumn of 2006, as the first recordings were taken into action.
The last ones we can never know. Life is a gift, truly.
