About Me
Nicole Avery Cox better known as Nikki
Cox was born June 2nd, 1978 in Los Angeles, CA. As a young girl she
expressed her interest in arts and entertainment. But specially had a
fervor for dancing. Which she initially pursued a career on. And at the
outset she was discovered by a agent while taking dance classes. The agent
offered her the chance to dance professionally. Which she and her parents
approved upon. Despite the skepticism in both parties. She then began
dancing in the The Joffrey Ballet's "Romeo and Juliet" and the Los Angeles
Music Center Ballet Tour and was sensational at it.
Which also gave her the opportunity to
appear in Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (1988) in the segment "Badder". And
a year later in Paula Abdul's: Straight Up (1989), also as a dancer. It
was that same year when she got her first opportunity in a made for
television movie role. Playing Andrea White, in The Ryan White Story
(1989). Since then she has landed several roles in other made for TV
movies. Such as: A Family for Joe (1990), Danger Island (1992), She Cried
No [Freshman Fall UK title] (1996) and Sub Down (1997).
But it was in her teen years at the age
of 13 when Nikki got her first taste of "The Big Screen". When she
appeared In the box office hit sequel, The Terminator 2: Judgment Day
(1991). Next to other big names such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda
Hamilton and Robert Patrick. Although it was a small role, that was only
the beginning. For she has appeared in many other blockbusters in
significant roles. Such as: The Glimmer Man (1996), Nutty Professor 2: The
Klumps (2000), and most recently Run Ronnie Run (2002).
She has also appeared in many
television sitcoms. Back to her first TV role in Mama's Family (1987).
And has landed guest roles in hit sitcom's such as: Star Trek: The Next
Generation (1989), Baywatch (1991), California Dreams (1992), General
Hospital (1993), Sister Sister (1996), The Drew Carey Show (1998), The
Steve Harvey Show (1999) and Norm (1999). Let's just say everybody wanted
her on their show, and who wouldn't. She's even been a cartoon character.
When she lended her voice in the Disney animated series Buzz Lightyear of
Star Command (2000).
It was in the mid 90's when Nikki got
her first big break. As she landed the lead role in the new primetime
television series Unhappily Ever After in (1995). Perhaps why we all know
her best and the very same reason many of us fell in love with her witty
personality and beauty. Many proclaimed it was a copy of Fox's hit sitcom
"Married with Children" but with a bit of a twist either way Nikki was
brilliant. She portrayed Tiffany Malloy a self-absorbed, smart and sexy
young woman. Saving her virginity, for a wrinkled old man or the famous
"prince charming" both of course loaded with lot's of money... Using her
sex appeal to get what she wants and basically walk all over her peers,
all of course with style and plenty of sexiness.
So it was obvious that the viewers
specially men, couldn't get enough of her enchanting beauty. So the back
then WB Television Network (now The CW). Cast Nikki in her very own
television show and since everybody had one name on their minds. What
better way than naming it right after her first name, Nikki (2000). She
stared as a Vegas showgirl which was actually great. Since there's was
singing and dancing involved. That gave Nikki the opportunity to indulged
in both of her passions. And wow us both acting and showing off her dance
moves. Sadly to say the scripting wasn't that great to begin with and the
show had a short run.
But it didn't end there you know what
they say, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas". Nikki bounce back with
another Vegas theme sitcom on the adversary network NBC, that titled Las
Vegas (2003), This time she portrays the sexy Mary Connell in a
fast-paced, drama. That follows the elite Las Vegas surveillance team
charged with maintaining. The security of one of “Sin City’s†largest
resorts and casinos. And co-stars with others such as Vanessa Marcil and
Molly Sims.
Recently after 4 seasons, Nikki said goodbye to Las Vegas. To pursue
another opportunity and another one of her many passions, 'comedy'.
Starring in a new pilot for CBS, "The Stumps of Hollywood" formerly known as "Fugly". Portraying her new
character Crystal Stump. A plot
about two Identical twin sisters (Nikki Cox and Marissa Jaret Winokur) and
their brother (Michael Rapaport) that pitch in to buy one of the sisters
(Nikki) an extreme makeover so they can all move to Hollywood and
capitalize on her good looks. It's already in production stages and
expected to debut on CBS this coming fall. So check it out, its bound to
be a good show. Full of lots of laughs and good times with Nikki in it !
On a more personal note. Nikki
exchanged wedding vows with comedian/actor Jay Mohr. On December 29th, of
2006 in a ceremony in Los Angeles, CA. Congratulations on finally finding
true love and happiness. Best wishes to Nikki and Jay. May you forever
live "happily ever after" with each other.
Nikki is here to stay and succeed in
this crazy world we call "Showbiz" and continue to entertain us. Let's
