Born and raised in rural Lyles, Tn. music has always been part of my life. From my earliest memories, I rember my grandma cooking dinner every friday night, and after dinner everyone would sit around and play their guitars, banjos, whatever they had. It was great. My mom and dad also play, so many nights I fell asleep to the sound of someone picking on a guitar. I remember when I was about 10 years old, my mom tried to teach me to play the giutar, but I was determined I wanted drums!! I loved my drums too, but I sure wish I had learned to play guitar then. I got my first acoustic from a guy I used to date, I think I was 18 and had just started college. My lack of guitar skill sometimes slows me down when it comes to writing songs though, it seems I cant find the chord I need!! Man I wish I had learned when I was 10! I can't believe I'm saying this, but I guess you were right mom!! Anyway, I love all types of music, but I guess my roots draw me toward country. I am 24 years old now, and have a family of my own. But, it seems no matter where I go and what I try to do, I can't escape my love of music. Unfortunately, my guitar playing needs some work, but I do love to sing, and I still try to keep up playing. So be sure to check out my videos, while they aren't original songs, it's a good insight to how things are with my mom and I playing and singing. I have managed to find the right chords for a few songs I've written and have posted here, so I hope you enjoy them. I am always more than happy to meet other songwriters, musicians, singers or just music fans! So feel free to send me a message or friend request. I'm am always delighted to hear other people's stories!

Influences:

I've had so many wonderful influences in my life, I almost don't know where to begin!! My mom, dad, and brother have always been a big influence. My mom has always been patient with me and helped me work on my guitar playing. She has always encouraged me to sing, though I refused when I was younger! My mom has always encouraged my writing, wehter it be poetry, fiction, or music; she has always praised my writing. Mom writes a lot of music herself, and in doing so has inspired me to write more of my own, so we help each other out with ideas and such. My dad taught me to play the bass guitar, and like mom always encouraged me to sing. My brother learned to play guitar much sooner than I, so I always wanted to be able to out play my older brother (though I think he probably still out-plays me). Since we've been grown, my brother has also encouraged me to sing; we've always been close and brutally honest with each other, so from him it is certainly a huge compliment and boost of confidence! Both of my grandmothers have also supported me and encouraged me. Last, but certainly not least, my husband. I know the poor guy has to get tired of having to listen to pieces of verses in every different key, but he never acts as if he minds at all. He is so selfless and supportive of my dreams and goals. All he wants in return is a kiss and a 1959 Corvette! So to my whole family, THANK YOU!! For everything! I hope I wont disappoint! ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ As far as music, there is such a variety of influences, some seem like opposites they are so different!! Stevie Nicks is my newest hero. I absolutely love her!! She is so amazing. I love Jewel, her determination has always inspired me and her lyrics as well. I am also a big Rachel Proctor fan. I have always loved John Berry, his lyrics are so powerful and his voice too. While I write mostly country, I love Blues, Jazz, and Rock. BB King is obviously awesome. I love Joss Stone for being different, and India Arie for the same reason, they are both beautiful artists. Dianna Krall is wonderful Jazz! And here it is, I love Metallica! They were awesome in concert and their music is so powerful, no matter how many covers I have heard of their songs, no one has been able to recreate it with the same effect. I know there is a huge variety of music listed there, but what can I say? I love it all!!Cover song - Dont It Make My Brown Eyes Blue
