007/The Scene

Mod/Pop/Punk

About Me

007 had their beginnings in the Mod Revival period of 1979 but did not gig as a full band until the Spring of 1981. 007 ceased trading in late 1982 and morphed into The Scene under the guiding hand of their Svengali like manager Paul Dixon. The Scene were a potent mod force (it says here!) from 1983 until early 1986 when they ceased the moddiness and found godliness in the form of Stranger Than Fiction. STF were a surrealist band with a shiny aura that manifested itself as tension, pretension and hypertension. STF diversified from the classic 4 piece beat combo into the classic 'split up and get married and have kids and a mortgage like everybody else' type scenario. All 3 bands truly were legends in their own minds! And now a word from our sponsor - The 007/Scene album Landscapes is still available on Detour Records (DRCD 005). Buy it!
