and say hi.
This past year we made the decision to try growing our own vegetables. It was a learning experience for sure. I had dabbled in gardening when i was a kid with my grandfather and his heirloom tomatoes. So we made some raised beds and scavenged some really yummy compost that had been brewing for about four years from yardwork and leftovers...it smelled heavenly! Our stash included two types of tomatoes, cukes, corn, carrots, limas, green beans, some herbs, peas, spinach, and a few other things. Everything strated out wonderfully. Then the drought came and we had to use nasty town water. Needless to say alot dried up before it could be born and harvested. The experience has been phenominal and we'll continue again this year. We're looking for some land in our area to do settle down on and make our dream of homesteading possible. As a whole, we've made alot of concious decisions to reduce the amount of toxins we use on our bodies ie: shampoos, detergents, lotions, household cleaners etc...and we are still improving everyday that we wake up. Baking soda is and has been a god-send for years. So yessiree we're degressing I guess you could say...back to ways that make life a healthier to live...on to new adventures...
Stay tuned...it only gets better!
