Carlos Alberto Rocha aka "Rhythmmatic" is a professionel
Autodidact(Self-taught)Dancer/DJ/Drummer. Carlos works with various Dance/Music/Theater projects. He cooperate's with other Dancers/Musicians who mostly have a different Dance/Music background. He also works as a DanceTeacher/Choreographer. Carlos is 37 jears old and lives in Holland. Carlos was born in Rotterdam but his Roots are from The Cape Verdian Islands in West Afrika.
He's from the first HipHop generation in Holland and have always been representing the Bboy Artforms since 1980. He represents the original DUTCH FUNKNESS!
At the age of nine in 1979 he started to dance the "James Brown" style. In the early eighties he get inspired by the American HIPHOP Streetculture's, such as ElectricBoogie/PoppingLocking and BreakDance. Since then he have been a verry active BBoy,and danced in many crews such as: The Perfect Combination and Magnificent Force in the early 80's, MC Rockers from middle 80's to'89, All Star Breakers '96/'97, 010BBoyz '98/2002. From 1990 till 1997 he danced with a group called D-Control, they where a Theater/Streetdance formation who mixed many styles like Breakdance,Robot,Streetdance,JanetJacksonstyle, and all the newest dancehypes that would change constantly.
In the past 7 years, he started to mix Jazz/TapDance into his BBoy Style. And he's still active as a BBoy, and Rock's with his Crew "Styles Confidential". This is a crew of BBoyz who started to Dance in the BreakDance classes of Carlos check there site on www.sc-crew.nl.
He also play Drums, and love to invite different artists to give live Music/Dance Performance's. During the show he moves from the DanceFloor to his Drums, always interacting with his guest Dancers/Musicians in a semi improvised setting!! In this way he challence himself and the other artists to be creative, and to perform on the ultimate edge of improvisation!!
Carlos works as a Dancetheacher, during the week on schools al over the Netherlands(Holland). He gives schoolperformance's in combination with a Workshop. He operates in the school project's with a dance company called 2DaPoint. As a freelancer he have been working in many country's around the world like: Kenia-Suriname-Marokko-SouthAfrika-Turkey and many more country's in Europa, where he also gived Workshop's and MasterClasses!
As a DJ Carlos spins his vinyl collection in different places such as the "Zwarte Ruiter" in The Hague. This a club where he do he's thing once a month. Sometimes he combines his set with a Live Beatboxer/MC called Andy Ninvalle aka MC Stutterbug and live musicians.
