Short BioIn 1986 Brainpower starts to rhyme as a youngster (inspired by Run DMC, Eric B & Rakim, LL Cool J and Kool Moe Dee amongst many others) .The year 1988 sees the MC's first song and ever since he has been working on his career as a solo artist. After ten years of honing his craft as a furious battle MC, he wins the critically acclaimed dutch ..Grote Prijs van Nederland.. contest for upcoming, unsigned acts in Amsterdam, 1998. Together with his live-partner DJ TLM he wins awards in all but one category (that of Best singer). The Best MC, Best DJ (TLM), People's Choice Award and the Main Prize.Dropping five albums throughout the following seven years, Brainpower is considered a Benelux icon. Because of his diverse quality music and dedication creating it he has been a top name in the Benelux for years. Yet, maintaining his credibility and his hard-earned critical acclaim. Being a kid from 'The Golden Age' of Hip Hop, the eighties, his repertoire always captures universal emotions, never losing the essence of - and his passion for - Hip Hop culture, as well as his intense love for many other music genres. After having had a ..1 song in both Holland and Belgium, a gold record, numerous nominations and winning at least ten (!) important awards plus having done nearly 2,000 shows during six years of extensive touring, Brainpower is working on finishing his international debut.
