SoulWicked is a raunchy soul/funk outfit put together by Canadian drummer/producer BeingGreg Smith and British soul singer/producer Colonel Red. The group also includes bassist Smiley Kuschel, and support vocalist Bo Anthony. The band's sound is a concoction of heavy kungeon drum rhythms, boom-blast bass, chic-blues guitar, sultry support vocals, and super-charged raspy lead vocals. All four met in Summer 2006 and immediately connected. Their influences came together to create the SoulWicked vibez. The story is to move deeper into song and sound. To make noise, organic and electric, but with the spirit of the old soul soldiers - think Sly Stone, Curtis Mayfield, Beastie Boys... This band oozes groove-sex, lyrical consciousness, and above all, floor-Shakin' power!
