ma è possibile chiederlo a noi!
la biografia ufficiale lo vuole "di luogo incerto"
dove la lucania si affaccia nella verde irpinia,
tra pochi alberi e tanto grano,
dove le persone
un tempo s'incontravano con i carri e,
all'ombra di grosse querce,
asciugavano la sete dei campi
con un succo rosso pastoso.
Yote Lobeso nasce a Buenos Aires
il 4 aprile del 1954, di origine italiana,
figlio di figli
di emigranti meridionali d’inzio 900’.
Dopo aver assaggiato il sogno americano,
dopo aver costruito
una famiglia semplice e amorevole,
dopo il crack del 2001
che sconvolse l’argentina,
dopo essersi venduto
la cosa più cara per pagare
i funerali dell’amata moglie:
ritorna nella sua terra d’origine,
svuotato e sconvolto!
Oggi é taciturno, irreale, porta ancora
addosso dei vestiti costosi,
ridotti ormai a stracci.
Chiunque gli chieda del passato
ha un’unica risposta:
il mio passato è affogato!
Oggi è qua, in questi luoghi
desolati della Lucania
precisamente tra le colline
di Viggiano, Accettura e Stigliano.
La dimora è una baracca costruita
con i pochi mezzi a disposizione:
lamiere, pezzi di tavole, plastica:
vive con 13 galline e due galli,
intorno montagne,
vigneti più in basso.
in completa povertà si ciba grazie
alla bontà dei suoi animali
e a quella dei visitatori
che non mancano mai.
Insomma sud-Italia:

Yotelobeso was born on April 4, 1954,
in Buenos Aires, the grandson
of italian immigrants, who were
shipped to the argentinian shores
at the dawn of the century.
After chewing the American Dream,
after building a lovely family
after Argentina declared
bankrupt in year 2001,
after selling the most
precious thing to give her beloved wife
a decent funeral:
he returns to his grandfatherland,
empty and deranged!
Nowadays he’s silent, unreal,
he still wears those expensive clothes,
now reduced to rags.
Anyone asking
him about his past,
gets the same answer:
my past is drowned!
Nowadays, in these desolate
lands in Lucania, most precisely
somewhere on the hills
of Viggiano, Accettura and Stigliano.
His dwelling is a hut built
with pieces gathered around: plates,

In absolute poverty, he feeds on his
animals’ kindness and thanks to visitors,
who are plenty.
