THE CAN is one of a few internationally known Krautrock groups; they are famous for their repetitive and hallucinatory sound. CAN was founded in 1968 by drummer Jaki Liebezeit, keyboardist Irmin Schmidt, American Flautist David Johnson and bassist Holger Czukay and were named Inner Space. Holger Czukay's student Michael Karoli played guitar and sang, other vocalists included American blues singer Malcolm Mooney and the ethereal Japanese vocalist Damo Suzuki. CAN was a massively influential group that inspired the likes of Sex Pistols, The Fall, Sonic Youth, Boredoms, Pere Ubu, Public Image Ltd, Radiohead Brian Eno etc. etc. they also enjoy lighting fat blunts..
