About Me

Hi I'm Laurence. a very political person, who has an opinion on virtually every issue in current afairs.I am an ardent atheist, and I greatly admire professor Richard Dawkins. I do not think any less of anyone, mearly on the grounds of what they believe.I am ninteen years old, and student of political and social sciences at the universtiy of Wales, Bangor UK. (Prefysgol Cymru Bangor- the sum total of my Welsh speeking abilities.) I'm origionally from Devon, where I lived with my dad, a single parent. I shan't publish too much here about my family without their permission, but my dad runs a psychiatric care home and is aiming to retire as soon as possible. My mum also worked in Psychaitry, and retired erlier this year. I also have an older brother, who's main claim to fame is that he has recently become a buddhist monk. But back to me. The main distiguishing charecteristic of my personality is that I have Asperger's Syndrome, a mild form of Autism. The main symptom of this is that I have diffuculty relating to people, and I have had to learn from scratch many of the norms of social behaviour that most people pick up. This is very different from being a missanthrop, and hating people, I tend to get on quite well with most people I meet, I just have diffculty reading their emotions. Also, Aspergers means I have a fantastic memory for facts, which is an obvious advantage educationally. I wouldn't want to be "normal" (No such imiginary state exists anyway) that would be a statement of self-loathing. I resent the notion that Asperger's is a "disease" that needs curing, it smacks of eujenics. My favorite hobbies include reading, cycling and surfing the net. I'm very keen on comedy, as well as controversial and thought provoking films. My favorite films reflect my love of both comedy and the darker side of human nature.

You scored as Scientific Atheist

These guys rule. I'm not one of them myself, although I play one online. They know the rules of debate, the Laws of Thermodynamics, and can explain evolution in fifty words or less. More concerned with how things ARE than how they should be, these are the people who will bring us into the future.
