About Me

Following a brief stint in the Royal Air Force and a 6 week tour of the coast of Florida, Ken Simpson settled down and started writing for himself and the ones who love his music (his dog Emma and unofficially his cats Monty and Sydney). "The songs above represent how I spend my nights...I mean, apart from the DVD watching..." A couple of musical projects I've been involved with include a Michael Penn Tribute called "Look What the Fans Drug In" and a short midwest tour with the one and only Neil Innes, the singing minstrel in 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail". Check out Ken Thornton's (of Von Frickle)guitar wizardry on "GooseStep Mama"! This CD is available at http://www.cafepress.com/buy/rutles.The original songs, "The Quiet" and "Blue Eyed White Cat" feature absolutely no collaboration with Jason Falkner (formerly of The Grays and JellyFish) or Andy Partridge of XTC. I also had no help on these tracks from pop maestro Thomas Walsh of Pugwash who has just released another masterpiece entitled "Eleven Modern Antiquities".
