Putrid Birth is a brutal deathgrind outfit which came into being during December of 2003, being founded by drummer Konrad Saliba and guitarist Mark Farrugia Sant' Angelo. Vocal duties at the time were shared between Mark Vassallo and Malcolm Alden (Tendency Charge), both of whom left the band to be replaced by one vocalist, namely Clint Aquilina. Daniel Zammit handles bass guitar playing. Bands which can be counted amongst Putrid Birth's influences include Devourment, Guttural Secrete, Disgorge (US), Dying Fetus, Gutrot, and Pyaemia. The initial full-on deathgrind apparent in early compositions by the band eventually shifted and gave way to a more technical approach to musical structure. The band is constantly creating new songs and refining older ones, the first of which were the basis for the first gig held on the 5th of October 2007, with Putrid Birth sharing the stage with Abysmal Torment and Erythuria.
