Around September 2005, having recently finished off other projects, Wenzu, Digby and Steve decided to form a band with the idea of it being a blend of metal and hiphop. By bringing together their favourite musicians, all of whom shared similar tastes in music, the line-up was formed as follows:
Wenzu (ex-Beheaded/Greenpiece) and Digby *Microdot* (Rhythmic Havoc, ex-Deadly Intentions) on vocals, Steve *Cannibal* (ex-Lynch/Greenpiece/Noetic) on drums, David (Abysmal Torment, ex-Canniria) and Stefan (ex-Lynch/Despised) on guitars, Skat (ex-Despised) on bass, Keith *SynChronic*(Rhythmic Havoc, ex-Lynch/Despised/Greenpiece) on turntables/sampling and Ian (ex-Lynch/Noetic) ..boards/sampling.
Given their differing musical backgrounds, many different styles emerged but were eventually conjoined to create the sound that is now known as Club Murder; a sound that moves from grinding riffs to smooth rhythms.
Club Murder’s debut gig came longside Abysmal Torment & Recoil the so called Butcher’s Pit turned out to be the years hugest gig in the maltese metal scene with over 450 people attending to this gig (which is a lot for the islands metal scene).
following 3 other great gigs including the maltese extreme metal festival
Club Murder made sure they cemented their name in the scene.
Right after the maltese extreme metal festival bassist Skat decided to leave the band for personal reasons. He was soon replaced by Tukan after just 3 try outs. Club Murder are writing new material and are now looking forward to come out live again early next year.
