Mis Boon: Daughters of the Horn

About the Filmmaker: Feyrouz Abdulrahman is an emerging Eritrean Canadian filmmaker who has lived in Toronto for 20 years. A member of Women In Film and Television (WIFT) since 2004, she continuously searches for ways to enhance her skills through formal training. She studied Business at York University and is currently pursuing a film program at Concordia University in Montreal. Her short documentary “Mis Boon: Daughters of the Horn”, about the common background and experiences faced by the Eritrean people was screened (Toronto) in recognition of World Refugee day in June 2006 and broadcasted on television in Sweden (TV Beles) and Eritrea (Eri-TV). Feyrouz has been featured in local newspapers including Ugpulse and Meftih for the success of her documentary. Besides the production of her film, Feyrouz has also worked on various television productions including ‘Divine Restoration’ for Vision TV, ‘Echo’ for SunTV, ‘Sienna Films’, and ‘Hotel Babylon’, a Canadian feature film.
