Saba´s Injera Soul

Born in Eritrea (east Africa) I was brought up in Germany. At an early age I felt that music was to play a major role in my life. Music makes me feel complete and sharpens my emotions. I discovered the variety and beauty within the many different styles of music like Jazz, Soul, Fusion-world music, HipHop and diverce traditional music. My voice was always eager to find challenges in different languages and styles. My first "professionel" journey in music was when I joined an International musical group the "Gospel Tribe", interesting mix of Afro/Spirituals/Dance, with them I toured for a while and learned a lot cause of the diversity of the cast (love you always guys!). My musical highlight so far was performing in Senegal AFRICA with the project "African Conscience" based in Paris, please check out the album! (***man how blessed I felt to be able to sing in the motherland***)About InjeraSoul: "Afro soul inspired by ethno jazz, from blue notes to groovy percussion rhythms, "InjeraSoul" soulfully unites many different moods in their music. The lyrics are mainly sung in Tigrinya (Eritrea) and English."We formed InjeraSoul at the begining of 2004. The band is named after the traditional Eritrean dish and basic food "Injera", a soft, fluffy and slightly sour bread. They say, once tasted you dont want to miss it anymore...truth that! To me Injera is not simply something to eat. Injera is culture and gets the people to sit on the same table and eat out of ONE plate! It keeps your body and soul intact! Excuse me??
