Natural history; history; social history; anthropology; archaeology; gardening; mushrooming; survival; motorcycles; herbalism; theatre; concerts; reading tarot and runes; languages; the paranormal; crime(particularly serial killers);occaisionally drinking ludicrous quantities of alcohol.
Everybody.
Prodigy, Moby, Alice Donut, Genesis, Stranglers, At The Drive In, Aerosmith, Public Image Ltd, Kate Bush, Eurythmics, Talking Heads and tons more. John Carpenter sound tracks are good, particularly "Vampires". Jeff Waynes' "War of the Worlds" is a great favourite. I have discovered lots of good new music on myspace; the best so far being Giant Albino Penguin.
I don't often sit still long enough to watch a film right through, but when I do, this is the sort of thing I like: Ju~on, Ringu, Young Frankenstein, Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Meaning Of Life, Jabberwocky, A Private Function, Brazil, Theatre Of Blood, Freaks, White Zombie, Peeping Tom, 10, Rillington Place, Dead Of Night.
I haven't watched tv in years, which probably reflects in my taste. Modern television exacts unecessary wear and tear of the eyeballs with very little by way of reward in viewing pleasure. Most of my telly stuff is on dvd: League of Gentlemen, Futurama, various "Life" series, Jeeves and Wooster, Sapphire and Steel, Hitchhikers Guide, Quatermass, Blackadder and so forth.
I have lots of these, mostly reference books, but I do read a lot of fiction too. I read the odd horror novel or two; my favourite authors being Ramsey Campbell and James Herbert. Occaisionally, I like a spot of science fiction, but not venturing much deeper than John Wyndham or Nigel Kneale. I enjoy almost anything with a historical content provided it is reasonably accurate, especially Norah lofts and Bernard Cornwell.
