... Zurück vom Baumwollpflücken, ging Ho Hu in die große Stadt, mit ihren dunklen Strassen, auf denen schon so manche ausgerutscht waren. Nicht aber Ho Hu: Er eröffnete einen, als astrologische Beratung getarnten, Tabakwarenladen und besuchte abends den Hafen der großen garnicht mehr so fremden Stadt. Denn dort hatte er einen Freund gefunden: Einen großen freundlichen Ochsenfrosch! Dieser las ihm an den Sommerabenden aus Capeks "Krieg mit den Molchen" vor. Und dazu tranken sie gemeinsam eine naiv-blubbernde Ingwerlimonade. Herrrrlich!
