About Me

Pat Thomas creates melodic music with a nice balance between country, pop and blues. His lyrics and melodies capture the emotion of honesty and have its origin from the bottom of his soul.
Pat Thomas sits in front of me drinking black coffee out of a cup with illustrations of Franz Kafka. He could easily fall into a stereotype – a restless spirited young guy, with an acoustic guitar resting on his knee, baring his soul within the music. But Pat Thomas is no way near of being a cliché.
- My music is me and no one else. My songs are completely honest. I refuse to become conventional and I have a hard time putting a label on my music, he says.
When Pat Thomas was twelve years old he started to sing and made his first strums on the guitar. He had a longing for doing his own thing and music became something that no one could steal away from him. He said farewell to his old skateboard gang and traded in his beloved board to the guitar. Ever since that moment, music has been his entire world.
- I played rock with my first band, but the genre was never that close to my heart when it came to the songwriting. Finally I discovered that my acoustic music felt more sincere and it turned out to be the best.
Pat Thomas' lyrics and melodies are often born in his subconsciousness. He explains that he still finds it hard to describe how the actual writing process works. But one thing is for sure, the songs are always true and often have a sense of melancholy in them.
- It happens that I write happy songs, but life is not always that easy and that is what I often reflect upon in my music. These thoughts are not unique in any way but hopefully my songs are. I want to affect people in some way.
He wants his audience to feel shivers when they listen to his music.
- I will never forget when I heard "Twist and Shout" for the first time as a young boy. My whole body reacted and that is what I want to give to my audience.
Besides his own composing, he studies at The Royal College of Music in Stockholm. With other words: It's music 24/7!
- My mission is to release a record that I am completely satisfied with. I would never go commercial just to sell lots of records. That would be like selling my soul. Then I rather prefer that not a single person buys my records. The important thing is that I can feel and stand for my music.
After the coffee is finished Pat Thomas rolls up his sleeve and shows me an arty tattoo with the words "Twist and Shout".
- This is a kind of tribute and a constant reminder of my first “shiver” and what inspires me as an artist. The search and challenge is to create music that makes people feel something.
