About Me

Greetings droogies, are you sitting comfortably? - then we'll begin. Once upon a time in the dim and distant past, two army brats (a child or young person who's father/mother is a member of the armed forces) meet up in a shithole called Larkhill, an army base on Salisbury Plain (about 1 and a half miles from Stonehenge, of which more, later) in the South of England. They are drawn together by their mutual interest in such things as: the punk movement and a fondness for the anarchist punk band Crass, Industrial culture and music and Throbbing Gristle in particular, the Come Org, the dark rock of Joy Division, the actions of serial killers such as the Moors Murderers, the Yorkshire ripper and the Manson family. The history of the Third Reich (especially the Hitler youth, death camps and the SS ), the Direct actions of Class War, A.L.F, Greenpeace, etc, the history of revolutionary groups such as Baader Meinhof, Red Brigades, Black Panthers, Yippies, IRA and the PLO. They also shared a liking for authors such as Aleister Crowley, Marquis de Sade, William Burroughs, Yukio Mishima, J.G Ballard and the Skinhead series by Richard Allen. Other subjects of interest were the Jonestown massacre, the Vietnam war and the Church of Satan, leylines, stone circles and magic, control/de-control, subversion and governmental cover ups, to name but a few. In this moment in time, the Grey Wolves were still a couple of years from existence (first came Opera for Infantry) and in the coming years a greater variety of interesting and extreme subject matter would be dealt with but it was here within this eclectic mix that the roots of The Grey Wolves can be found. - TO BE CONTINUED

Band Members: A couple of c.u.n.t's. Theres's one from down South who now lives in Salford and one from Salford who now lives down South.The Grey Wolves are a two man operation - David Padbury (aka Dap) + Trev Ward. When Trev opted out of live work early on in the Grey Wolves history, this side of The Grey Wolves was left to David who would either perform alone or seek the assistance of allies such as Mike (Con-dom), Klaus (Genocide Organ), Marco (Wertham) or anyone close to hand at the time. Trev broke his stage boycott in September 05 when The Grey Wolves supported their long standing allie and friend Con-dom in Bristol. For one short evening, in the west country, the Grey Wolves were reunited on stage.Since then Grey Wolves output has been very low key but now the Grey Wolves are getting restless and output will be intensified. They have put together a website (address above) and there are plans for new recordings but first off there is the matter of a dbl 12" split + kollaboration between Grey Wolves and Wertham titled RAMRAIDING THEE ABYSS to complete, this has been in the pipeline for too long now, Wertham have completed their part of this release and now its up to the wolves - their part is under construction and has now been made a priority, R.T.A is a planned release for OEC. Check out the label Open Wound (a Grey Wolves offshoot) which has an ongoing cdr compilation series FRESH BLOOD that friends and allies are invited to contribute to. Sounds Like: Sounds like the world trade centre collapsing mixed in with music from the death factory fed through a slaughterbox with soundscapes suitable for a war between neo-con backed forces and islamic faschists being thrown in the blend, a track of dead rock stars screaming from beyond the grave that they made a mistake and want back in is slowly faded in while the sound of bricks and petrol bombs raining down upon streets filled with cs gas clouds and police cars burning as glass windows shatter is fed through the slaughterbox once more via a distortion unit , this is then faded out to the sound of nuns getting raped by contra forces, the sound of jesus weeping is added on as an endless loop. Severe sounds for severe times, sounds for survival at the dawn of the 21st century.
