jazz, art rock, smart pop, psychedelic, soul, reggae, ethereal, Spaghetti Western film music (Morricone), incidental/instrumental, Rota, Lai, Durutti Column, Rain Parade, 10cc, Yes, C. Mayfield, M. Gaye, ELP, Pink Floyd, P. and M. Metheny, Lyle Mays, Rodby, K. Chahine, some ambient, some classical (Satie, Ravel, Mussorgsky, Chopin), some spacy music, even some dance music if intelligent (or is that an oxymoron?)
Un Homme et une Femme, Crumb, Ghost World, Fantastic Planet, Cinema Paradiso, Brazil, Head, Last Tango in Paris, Amelie, Napolean Dynamite, A Fistfull of Dynamite and all the other Spaghetti Westerns for the most part, More (that Pink Floyd-soundtracked movie), Easy Rider, most Fellini flicks, especially 8.5; but really, I don't go out to see many first-run movies (I'm too cheap! ha-ha)
History Channel (so I can know what will be repeated), A&E documentaries, Adult Swim on Comedy Central (my son likes Family Guy), Real Time with Bill Maher and Real Sex (when I'm in an HBO zone), the Weather Channel (when I don't want to think, ha-ha), AMC (Film Noir), National Geographic Channel (the secret sex life of ants, lol), some ESPN (but not a jock), local public access channel in any town; moreover, I really don't watch sitcoms or weekly series unless I'm with someone who likes watching them. Then I tend to talk over them, and invent "better" dialogue for the characters. lol.
with maps! yes, love to stare at those maps for hours (spatially resigned, the soon-to-be-ex-wife would say.) Also most titles by Proust, Twain, Carroll, Vonnegut, Brautigan, Rand-McNally, Leary, Beckett, Huxley, Castaneda, Lilly, H. S. Thompson, LaForgue, Kesey, Ram Dass, Kerouac, Ferlinghetti, Bukowski, and other fringe authors. Hey, why isn't there an "Art" section?
