About Me

Here's my shameless attempt to turn you onto some of the bands I've been with over the years. I'm proud to have been a part of them and this material should be heard by more people out there dammit! ha So, here's some of it. It's been a riot baby! ************************************************************ *********************SPEAKERS OF THE HOUSE: Santa Monica, CA (2003-present) When I first moved out to LA, I put 'feelers' out there that I was looking for a great band. So, I had all these bands sending me cd's to listen to and Lucius' stuff struck a 'chord'. There was great lyrics and clever hooks that 'hooked' me so I joined and we formed Speakers of the House. Lots of good things have happened: a fab video, full length album in 2005 and various spots in TV shows on MTV and Spike-TV. And, the new songs Lucius has written are spectacular. To buy the first album or individual songs, visit itunes.com, cdbaby.com or Speakers' myspace page: myspace.com/speakersofthehouse Official band site: speakersofthehouse.tv ************************************************************ **********************THE RAVELERS: Charlotte, NC (1990-95) Two great songwriters (Mike and Chris) and then you add in Don (drums) and Leslie (guitar) and we were family. Lot's of gigs all over the southeast and a host of recording studios (including an unforgettable two weeks in New Orleans at the famous Sea Saint Studios). They're still hammering out great tunes, with a new release coming out soon. www.myspace.com/theravelers and the official site: www.theravelers.com. These sites will direct you on where to by the albums or songs. ************************************************************ *********************** STELLALUNA: Charlotte, NC (1994-96) Wow, this is still one of my favorite records.., ...although I'm not on the record! Jamie Hoover's guitar and bass playing and producing are incredible. I was psyched to get the call from Rob Robison (writer and guitarist) to join the band. Although short-lived, we had a blast playing venues (which included side-stage gigs opening for legend Neil Young, the Monkees and the lovely Jewel.) and having fun harassing radio DJ's in Charlotte during live sets on the radio.****************************************************** ********************************By the way, check out Stellaluna guitarist's (Stephen McSwain) website out. He's a guitar player and fab guitar maker here in LA. We asked another close friend, Tim Belk (drummer who was in Stellaluna) to join and the chemistry was there. Rick has always been one of my favorite guitarists (think U2's Edge meets the Cure and Psychedelic Furs) We recorded 5 new songs after releasing the debut album but they never got finished. I promise, they will! I hope to release a new album this year if at all possible. If interested in the hard to find 2001 debut release, "Stereo Image Change", please shoot me an email and I'll send one out to you for $10 bucks (that includes shipping!) ************************************************************ ***********************NEWBORN BABIES: 'The Valley', CA Look for EP by summer '08. We're hoping to have several of our favorite guitarist friends on various songs to mix things up. "Bam Bam" (Mike Skogman from Speakers of the House) is on drums so the rhythm sections is solid! I think you'll like these tunes we've come up with. (at least I hope you do!) ************************************************************ ***********************LADIES LOVE OUTLAWS: Santa Monica, CA When I met Steve Marshall (Waylon) and discovered what an incredible talent he is on guitar, I had to do something with him. He's a Waylon freak and turned me into one as well! Not only is he a guitar monster, but he has a talent in voice impersonations. This guy can sound like Waylon, Willie and Johnny Cash! But, to keep things simple for now, we're working solely on Waylon material. I might have a problem doing a 'tribute' act for anyone other than Waylon (some of these tributes are cheesy) but the tunes are classic and a lot of fun to play and Steve is the real deal. www.myspace.com/ladiesloveoutlaws*************************** *********************************************************BEA VERQUEST THE MUSICAL: I was pleasantly surprised to get a call from my friend and talented composer, Bobby Stapf about an upcoming musical comedy this spring. Well, we just finished the 6 week run (19 shows) and it was a great experience and a hoot to do. The theater critic reviews were awesome. (Thumbs up in LA Times, LA Weekly, LA Stage Scene etc) Playwright and award winning lyricist, Padraic Duffy wrote a hilarious and touching musical based on the smash hit late night Serial Killers series at the Sacred Fools Theater here in LA, while Bobby wrote all the great, memorable songs for the musical. Lots of fun. Thanks again gents! sacredfools.org, bearverquestthemusical.com or myspace.com/beaverquest.************************************ *********************************************** OTHER LINKS: www.tomoesch.com Tom directed the 'Shaved' video and he is awesome. Check out some of his other film projects, commercials and music videos (including a Beck video). You'll love his stuff. Don't miss the Spike TV and Coffee commercials he did---it's all on his website. ************************************************************ ************************Bye kids, talk to you soon and remember; "Mommas don't let your babies grow up to be bass players..."************************************************* ************************************
