"Arne Weinberg's eponymous imprint returns with its seventh release - this time from Rotterdam's Kubra. Control Issues is the order of the day here, "Unknown Swimming Project" opens the twelve with a deep, padded Dan Curtin style line in production - all elongated synths and woodblock percussion - really nice stuff. "Aqualiscious" is more tripped-out, bringing to mind vintage Black Dog or classic British Techno a la Kirk Digieorgio's ART imprint...""On this one the duo delivers four tracks that blend electro funky influences with techno and if the first two cuts "Unknown swimming object" and "Aqualiscious" are really club friendly and melodically rich, the two tracks of the B side ("Timespan" and "Future reference") are more particular because of their hypnotic semi oriental rhythm mixed with a techno ambient approach to the sound."
"Early 90’s heads will remember the amazing Misjah and Tim release on X-Trax. Well this new track is DJ Tim coupled with Bas roR from Rotterdam and it’s one of the best things out there at the moment. Perhaps the most club friendly release on AW Recordings so far, this beauty really does rock in all the right places. As if the Detroit bass doesn’t do enough your head, the crescendo slaps you senseless with a selection of notes that are simply unbelievable. All tracks are good but the A1 destroys."
"Thanx for lettin' me hear how techno should sound again..
puik!!"
