Influenced by dutch radio shows like the Ferry Maat soulshow and Krapuul Delux he learned about (electronic) dance music in the 80's (italo, disco, hip hop, r&b, funk). Living on a small island on the west coast of Holland surfing was all he did. Finally around '87 when the early Chicago and Detroit house and techno records hit Europe (which sounded like music from another planet!) he was hooked!. Serge started buying records at the import stores in Rotterdam and Amsterdam and he started visiting the Roxy club in Amsterdam (the first club playing only house, acid and techno in '88). A bit later he got his first dj residence at a local night club called Trinity (1989) which he did for a couple of years. After that he was soaked into the music thing and in 94 and 95 he started releasing his own music (as Orx and Cospagon) and founded his label (inspired by the great Chicago and Detroit labels, therefore the name Clone). From there on things really took off... Now he runs his business wich includes the Clone record store, Clone distribution, a publishing department and sub labels such as DUB recordings, Clone Classic Cuts and Frantic Flowers (with Klen).
