The founder and the head of Respect Family. Engaged in drum&bass music since 1997.
Dj Gvozd started djing in 1997. On March 1998 he began promoting his own drum&bass events in clubs of St-Petersburg. And from summer 1998 he was often invited to take part in different drum&bass gigs. From September 1998 Gvozd was a participant of the punky-drum&bass live project La-5 In The Air & Dj Gvozd.
Dj Gvozd was the first person in St-Petersburg, who began professionally to collect, compile and release drum and bass music made by Petersburg music producers. On April 22, 1999 the presentation of the 1st release of Dj Gvozd’s own label Gvozd D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) took place at Griboedov Club. It was the 1st compilation of Petersburg drum&bass called Respect. The compilation Respect got a lot of interest and positive responses. In April 1999 Gvozd also organized drum&bass crew called Respect Family. Its primary members were Dj T.Half, 3’0’3 Project & G.O.O.A.S.H. Dj Zemine, SPBass Team, R.E.S.T. Art and others appeared in Respect later.
On December 24, 1999 Dj Gvozd presented the 2nd compilation Respect that was also released on Gvozd D.I.Y. On May 27, 2000 Respect records released its 1st production – dj mix by Gvozd Terrorizm. 8 years passed from this moment & Respect records released for this 4 years more than 40 very interesting & quality drum and bass releases.
Dj Gvozd plays different drum and bass: technosound, scientific, nu atmospheric, good looking, soulful, uplifting dnb and ragga jungle. He has drum&bass radioshow Pirate Station on Radio Record, that is the only FM drum&bass radioshow in St-Petersburg.
Gvozd is one of organizers of Russian Drum&Bass Convention, that gather more than 100 djs & musicians from different russian cities each year.
