Dmitriy Rusak aka ZyZ_Ruffen started producing music in 1995 being 17 years old.
In 1997 he organized d&b project called 'Ruff Engine'. And it was one of the 1st techstep music group in Russia. In 1999 the 1st album 'Face Off' was released.
ZyZ became one of the head and ideologist of the drum&bass label Total Advance Music. In 2001 the 2nd album 'Drum’n’Bass Addiction' by Ruff Engine was released on this label.
After breakdown of Ruff Enfine ZyZ started his solo creative works under alias Ruffen. In 2002 he began collaborating with Dissident (famous russian musician and his old friend). Together they became to be the pioneers of russian techno d&b and neurofunk wave. Ruffen took part in all important events on drum&bass scene of Russia. Among them Russian Drum&Bass Convention, the 1st official DSCI4 party in St. Petersburg featuring Sta & Paul B and Black Sun Empire, 'Pirate Station' festival with Goldie and Technical Itch and others.
His tunes 'Fuji' and 'Last DNA Donor' was released on vinyl by american Fear Red Records. Also he released a lot of tracks on CD compilations in Russia.
Now Dmitriy is involved and fond of soulful d&b music sounds. His collaborative works with russian atmospheric d&b musician Jssa has been already highly appreciated by d&b djs and were released on music compilations in Russia on Respect records, Tamrecords and others.
