Don't look at me in that tone of voice.

About Me

I was born in Wedlock, a small mining town near Rotherham, in 1958, which is just two minutes before eight o’clock. I attended Swinton Comprehensive School (sometimes) where I spent most of my time dreaming of becoming a professional footballer. After trials with Real Madrid, A.C. Milan, Barcelona and Sheffield United I was finally found guilty and offered a place with the Coach and Horses in the Sheffield Sunday League. My playing days were cut short at the age of 39 after tragically breaking a promise in a vigorous training session. After a life-changing experience at a Sheffield College I broke into the halls of academe where I obtained a BA Honours degree in English Studies, and to this day I don’t know to whom it belongs. Despite obtaining enough rejection letters to wallpaper a small European nation I have continued to write, act and direct, hoping to rise from a state of abject poverty (which is a small region near Sheffield) to keep a steady balance beneath the bread line. I do not believe in astrology (typical Capricorn). I am a single parent although my two sons have finally flown the nest. I am thirty two years old. My hobbies include listening and dancing to Northern Soul music, Sheffield United, reading, and lying about my age.
