About Me

Sarah is a vocalist living in North London with her Husband Howard McGill.She spent five years touring the world as 1st Soprano with the A Cappella group, The Swingle Singers.She has sung on many major film soundtracks, Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter, The Da Vinci Code, Star Wars etc.. and worked with artists such as Bjork, The Pet shop Boys, Michael Jackson, Paul Mcartney and Elton John.Her versatile voice has enabled her to work in many different genres including classical contemporary work performing music composed by Steve Reich, Luciano Berio and John Adams at venues such as Carnegie Hall, New York. La Scala, Milan and in Tokyo with The Chicago Symphony Orchestra.She has been recently appearing with Big Band in the UK performing tracks from her debut album "Once in a Lifetime" and continues to work as a session singer in London.She is currently on a part time two year acting course with the LRCA at The Urdang Academy Covent garden under the direction of Michael Armstrong.Her motto is "It's never too late to be what you might have been...." Band Members: Her album features the finest session players in the UK. The rhythm section are Andrew Vinter (piano) Routledge Turnlund (Bass) Allan Cox (Drums)John Paricelli (Guitar) Horns are Howard McGIll - Saxophones. Mike Lovatt - trumpets and Andy Wood - trombones. with Fergus Gerrand - percussion.
Influences: Sarah grew up watching classic movies with Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, Gene kelly, Debbie Reynolds. Her vocal style was influenced by these movies and mostly the sense of 'show business' that attracted Sarah to singing in the first place. Ella Fitzgerald, Blossom Dearie, Julie London, Shirley Horn and Nancy Wilson are just some of the people who she has grown to love and continue to inspire her singing today.
