Stan Bozek, lead guitarist for the popular Dennis Lee Show which plays many fairs and festivals across the United States, has been playing music as long as he can remember. Beginning with a cheap, barely tuneable "toy" guitar at age 5, he started serious lessons at age 9 with jazz guitarist and Columbia recording artist George O’Dell. The lessons ended 4 and 1/2 years later but the learning continued as Stan began studying Classical guitar and the Chet Atkins style simultaneously. By age 18, he was playing in country, country rock and pop bands in upstate NY and was soon a highly regarded and sought after player as well as a vocalist, performing at clubs, weddings, fairs and other outdoor events, in addition to recording with many NY musicians. Several trips to Nashville and Bell Buckle TN helped to broaden Stan’s opportunites and recording sessions and work with road bands followed as a result. In recent years, Stan has shared the stage or opened for many nationally known acts including Sheryl Crowe, Pam Tillis, Valerie Smith, Ray Price, Joe Diffie, Lee Greenwood, the Grass Roots, Dr. Hook, Chris LeDoux, Hal Ketchum, Herman’s Hermits, Edgar Winter, David Lee Roth, The Larkins, and Blues great James Peterson. Besides his versatility on guitar, Stan also plays dobro, bass, sings and has been known to play harmonica on occasion. One of the high points of his career was and still is when Chet Atkins complemented Stan’s recording of some of his original compositions. _________________________________________________________ *****IN 2006, STAN RELEASED 2 LONG-AWAITED CD’S. The FIRST, entitled simply "SOLO", is a unique collection of instrumentals performed on electric, acoustic, resonator and nylon string guitars. There are 14 songs on the CD which is basically divided into 3 different styles of music. The first 6 songs are reminiscent of classic Chet Atkins fingerstyle guitar and include SAN ANTONIO ROSE, YANKEE DOODLE DIXIE, VINCENT, and FREIGHT TRAIN. Next are 4 classical pieces including FUR ELISE by Beethovan, SPANISH DANCE, and 2 BACH compositions. The remaining songs on the CD are ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS of Stan’s, and these have been very well received. ___________________________________________________________* **** The SECOND CD is called "DREAMS OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS" and is a collection of 23 TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS MELODIES performed on classical and electric guitars.
