Talita Kumi
Little girl! Get up!I was named after Talita the star in the sky in the constellation Ursa Major.
My Dad used to navigate by the stars as a Captain and found the name in a Finnish book of stars.
I was told that Talita means "third leap of the little gazelle", in that the star(planet) Talita is the third shining in a row.
When i was 15 i went to Rio and signed a visitors book at some botanical gardens, to find the 3 names above me were also Talita's. These were the first 3 other Talita's i had encountered.
When i was 19 i researched the name more and found that "Talita" or Talitha meant "Little girl" in aramaic and that in the parables when Jesus healed the little girl that was dead he said "Talitha Kumi" - "Little girl get up".
I Think Talitha Kumi should be my motto. Whether it's because i've literally fallen - like whilst skating, with work, emotionally or in love.
In Love someone said to me yesterday "tu n'es pas chanceuse sur ce coup là , c'est sûr !"
Ah bah - c'est vrai!
I love easily, i hope that never changes.
But i work hard and i'm a VERY determined person. I like to get the job done. Even if i get metaphorically knocked back - Talita bloody Kumi. Dust off your knees and hands little girl.
Sometimes i probably come across as distant because i'm thinking, or working hard. But really when my mind is on the party i like to dance all night. And i like to think that once we're friends and you know me, we'll be friends forever.
