THIS ONE'S AN EMOTIONAL ONE...

About Me

We are a pirate band who were formed at the beginning of time. The origins of the band lie in a project started by Ali, Srdjan, George and a small jewish girl, in 2003, at a time when we could barely play our instruments. At the time the band was named 'Potato Sack', and little serious activity took place apart from half a song about Godzilla being written. It was only until Bolivian illegal imigrant Dan Conroy joined the band on drums, and our good freind Johnathan Noone replaced george on bass, that progress started to be made, culminating in our first gig (more of an exposure) in 2004. Since then we've got properly good. Then George came back, and we found a japanese robot malfunctioning in the glasgow rubbish dump, who could sing better than ali. The year 2007 saw some lineup changes in the rhythm section due to medical/political reasons, but the band is yet again ready as ever to go forth and vanquish. New material is always being added to the bands live repertoire.
The covers we sometimes throw in reflect our influences and style well.
To date we have played:
Saxon-Lionheart
Pantera-Domination
Skid Row- Youth Gone Wild
Slayer- Rain in Blood,War Ensemble
Extreme- Its a Monster
Iron Maiden - The Evil That Men do
Manowar- Battle Hymns
Judas Priest- Living after Midnigtht
and many more...
We all go to Reading School and have been united in our love of true heavy metal and pirates. We love to play live and have played about 40 or so shows. Feel free to contact us for more info...
METAL THANKS TO: Paul Rumble for being our bassist for our july 2007 gigs at 2xthe turks,3x the face bar, and one gig in sandhurst. He did a sterling job despite only 2 weeks preperation, and helped us carry on the fight despite the sacking of our long time bassist. Matt Lee for being our drummer from sep 2007 to dec 2007, joining the band the same day we discovered Daniel was dead, doing a soid job at our turks gig and on the recordings of pirates never die and ship of doom. Adam Challand for playing bass for us at the london gig Chris Chilcott (of the mighty rockers Panikk Attakk) for filling in on drums in october 2006. Max Benwell for filling in on drums 29/10 and 03/11 at the face bar Sas for helping make this website And of course all our fans
REVIEWS: 'It was a random, spur of the moment decision to go to the Turks instead of the 3b's to see the Noyze play, but it was the shorter walk which swung it in the end. Glad we did go though, as these boys rocked out - really had a laugh listening to them dredge up stuff I was moshing to long before they were born.Fair play boys - enjoy the photos. Which can be found at http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/adamososki'
'It was then time for the long awaited return of The Pirates Of Metal. With a new drummer and a new bassist they were ready to rock and did so in style! They played nearly all the old classics; like wank monster and Longstaff the iron bastard - if you've never heard them then it gives you a good idea of what they're like. All in all, a welcome return for the Reading School boys.'
'..Following on was local Buccaneer Lords and keepers of all things nautical and metal, The Pirates of Metal. They played a top drawer set and i even managed to nab myself a copy of their brand spanking new "Ship of Doom E.P".....which i happen to be listening to now. (Class) Rounding it all of with the superb Wank Monster, a song that you either need a heart of stone or a tragic lack of sense of humour not to grin like an idiot and sing along to.'

Sounds Like: The maddest, most piratey, heavy fucking metal around. A 5 piece band of lecherous loons who will soon conquer the world with our own brand of face-melting, chest-bursting, über metal. This motley quintet comprises of only the most shred-headed piratey vagabonds ever to cruise the seven seas.
