Respect and greetings!! I am simply SINGING VERNON aka Vernon Bourne. I am a humble servant of Jah Almighty and I sing roots-conscious reggae. I love and respect the natural beauty of Mother Earth. Let us all help her to stay green. . Seeeen! And of course you know I love my home the beautiful Island of Jamaica. I man grew up in a small town called Santa Cruz, in the parish of St. Elizabeth where I attended the Santa Cruz All Age School. I also attended St. Elizabeth Technical High School. Big up to my school mates all over...
Growing up I was always around music. My father and uncle were musicians in the 50’s and 60’s, playing Mento, Calypso and Blues in bands called "Red Hot Six" and/or "Collegate Band", based in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth. My family on a whole is very much musically oriented. So at age ten singing seems natural when I joined my school choir where I develop my vocals and learned harmony techniques. I further developed my voice singing along with records being played on my cousin’s Sal Soul Disco dancehall sound system in the 1980’s.
I was influenced to record music when I met Dudley Eulitt, a musician, producer and composer. Dudley Eulitt is currently co-producer on my projects. I recorded my first song entitled "Times Hard" with Tazz Major in 2004. That initial redording was followed by tracks entitled "Chip Hop" and "Love Is A Hurting Thing". I was encouraged even more to pursue a professional music career when I recorded "Life Is Like A River" followed by"Why " and "Keep On". These tunes received rotations on Jamaica radio stations.
Currently I am working with D.I.A on a continued artist and products development campaign. With Jah’s guidance, I will see you all in dude time good people. In the mean time...
