How to Breathe

If you stop breathing you're dead.

About Me

About our film: How to Breathe was shot in Portland and Gresham, Oregon in late October 2006 over a total of four days. The short features new music from The English Panther , a project of Coheed and Cambria 's Travis Stever. His beautiful music fit the tone and direction of How to Breathe so well, three of his songs are featured.
Portland musician Robin Washburn composed the score for How to Breathe. His melancholic and subtle score brings the story to a whole new level of understanding and compassion.
The lead role of "Boy" is a debut for Caleb Matson , a great talent who was able to grasp the depth and understanding the part required. In addition, Jana Purcell as "Girl" proved that acting is much more than memorizing lines and repeating them. Her skill in bringing to life a nearly silent character was of great benefit to the production.
How to Breathe was based on a short story by Noah Stanik and was conceived, produced and directed by Noah Stanik and Skyler Stever. The two have been collaborating for nearly four years on writing projects, commercial production, experimental videos and narrative projects.
