About Me
On a hot day in April 2005 A.D., four young boys decided to do something other than just chill out and drink beer. Those young people were Mladen Lukic (guitar), Novelja Korac (bass), Zoltan Simon (drums) and Svetozar Miucin (guitar). They needed an idea, a vision, and Mladen provided them with one. From the start, the band concentrated their work on their own material, and they never really wanted to be a cover band, and gain popularity that way. They started walking a rocky road. Ideas were never missing, but it wasn't the only factor in what is supposed to be a succesful band. Novelja soon left the band because of obligations in his other band (Anguish Sublime), and a fact that he had to travel from the other town to go to rehearsals. Josip Opacic stepped in, Novelja's long-time friend, and the problem seemed to be solved. But the road proved to be very rocky indeed, because of the fact that right after Novelja, Svetozar also left the band and dedicated himself to his other band (Hrizantema). There was also the question of lead vocals, that was a real problem for almost a year. Zoltans's friend Ognjen Popovic stepped in to fill the place of rhytm guitarist, and Pavle Radanovic stepped in as the lead singer. The band wasn't satisfied with Pavle's work so he left the band in september of 2005. Again there was a vocal issue.
Because of the arguments between the Hrizantema members, Svetozar was again free to work with AoorA, only this time he stepped in as a vocalist. This line-up lasted for the greatest period of time (October 2005 - June 2006). Gigs started, and people began to give credit to AoorA's work, mainly because they weren't like other cover bands. In April 2006. AoorA had their first TV appearance on a local TV station Channel 9. They had an interwiew and played 6 of their songs, but the show was never broadcasted for unknown reasons. Still, they had a recording of their work.
After one show in Lazarevac (20.05.2006.), the band realized that Ognjen was the weakest link in what was intended to be a strong chain, so he left the band in the beginning of June, and focused on his Hard Core project called "Kolaps". Svetozar took the guitar in his hands, after more than a year, and with the arrival of Uros Maric (lead vocalist) in the band, everything seemed to be perfect. Not long after the summer brake, Svetozar again decided that to step out, this time because of the way in which the band seemed to move, towards more agressive heavy metal music with thrash influences. Dragutin Sukovic, a young starlet from Novi Sad stepped in to help the band on a gig in Belgrade in the August of 2006, but he was dismissed not long after that because his work didn't satisfy the band's criteria. After him, in september of 2006, came Milan Nikolic, a young and unexperienced guitarist, with a lot of potential, and that is the line-up to this date.
In October of 2006, AoorA recorded their first demo, "Nightside Of Mind", and the agreement between the bandmembers is to focus 100% of their energy in creating more of their material, in hope to record an album one day.In this picture from left to right: Josip Opacic, Mladen Lukic, Uros Maric, Zoltan Simon, Milan Nikolic
