Hi to everyone who doesn’t know me my name is jenny-Lynn thank you for visiting my myspace. Il tell you a little about myself, I was born by the sea side in sunny Devon in a lovely little village called Braunton, it’s been a wonderful place to grow up. Spending days by the sea and surrounded by beautiful countryside. I have been singing since I was a little girl. I used to spend hours with my dad sitting on the stairs singing while he played guitar so I suppose I can say my dad has been my biggest inspiration in music. My whole family have always encouraged me from an early age in all my school plays and performances but it wasn’t till I won a televisions program called steps to the stars on BBC then sang live on live and kicking that I realised that it was my dream to be a singer. I loved the feeling I got from performing so that’s what I did. I recorded an album of songs, which my dad had written for me, so I went on a little tour of holiday parks shopping malls festivals and theatres with four backing dancers. I will never forget those days! Our routing dancers and quick outfit changes all squashed inside a coat closet or in the toilets with my mum sewing on buttons and fixing our hair, we had a lot of fun! A lot of the music on my album was quite country and I got asked to sing at a festival in Tennessee, we couldn’t afford to take all the dancers so my dad came with his guitar and we played acoustically it was a great experience. As I got older and matured in music I started trying lots of different styles and was in many bands. When I left school I decided to go to a performing arts college. It was a combination of singing, dance and drama; it gave me a lot of confidence and many unforgettable memories. I am now 20 years old and have been living in London for just over a year. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. I have already moved three times which is the most I’ve moved in my whole life. But I’m now happy with my boyfriend in our tiny flat not far from the river. As much as I love the city life, I think I’m a country girl at heart. So any chance I get I’ll go home for a couple of days to smell the fresh air and find some inspiration.
My first year in London has been my first year of independence! I have had ups and downs but have learnt a lot about myself, and had a lot of fun. I have met some lovely and interesting people who have shared their experiences and wisdom with me and helped me along the way. I have been working with songwriters and producers focusing on my songs and style for my album. I think its all gonna come together when I start performing with my new band. I have been doing some acoustic gigs around London, just me and a guitar, which I have enjoyed a lot. But a band really brings my music to life. And I can’t wait to start performing very soon! Thank you to all the people on Myspace who listen to my music and I enjoy reading your lovely comments.
