A Place For St. Louisans Who Love Their City...

About Me

I am a city. I am a great city. I am an underrated city. My name is St. Louis! You can call me "the Lou" or "STL" for short. I also have many other names such as "the Gateway City," "Mound City," "St. Louie," etc. I am a city full of rich history and culture. During the latter half of the 1900's, I experienced a drastic population decrease due to my residents leaving for the suburbs. Thankfully, due to the revitalization of my downtown area and surrounding neighborhoods, people are now moving back in droves. Urban revitilization is transforming historic warehouses and factories into chic lofts, hotels and must-try restaurants. There are many new developments opening up downtown including the new Busch Stadium, Ballpark Village, and the Bottle District. St. Louisans love their sports teams...especially Cardinals Baseball. Because of this, I also have the nickname "BASEBALL CITY USA." I have the largest metropolitan area in the State of Missouri and the 18th largest metropolitan area in the United States with nearly 3 million residents.
