About Me

A natural curiosity for storytelling and a fascination with music has lead Claire down a path towards composition for the moving image.
She is now holding (yes, right now) a masters in screen composition from the Australian Film Television & Radio School in Sydney. Before starting up at AFTRS, she attained a degree in Composition and Musicology at the University of Western Sydney and had composed for several award-winning short films, installations, theatre and dance productions.
Claire enjoys the freedom that cross-disciplinary art offers. She is interested in exploring the relationship between sound and image and is keen to be a part of filmmaking that encourages integrity, depth and imagination.
This was the blurb she submitted for something else.
She also digs kitty-cats, lichen, blood, fruit herbs & vegies from the garden, the beach in winter, handmade chocolates, kids jokes, cocktails, baths with a soundtrack in the dark, inventing things but never making them, swimming in salty-muddy-fresh river water, cowboys and cowgirls, love stories, ridiculous puppets, mythology and history- especially when they chance to meet, drawing in pen & ink/conti/graphite, remaining permanently wedged in her own little dreamland.

Pink-Washing&Ready (from the short film "My Sister & I") features Carl Dewhurst on his sexy handmade guitar and Gustav Lindström on his hot vintage 1950's drum kit! (I think it was from the '50's)

Kindle end credits (from the short film "Kindle") features the mellifluous vocals of Freya Lindblöm from Elf and Juliah Boehm and Alex Kaye from Kaya.

Think About It: Cue 18 (from the hour long documentary "Think About It") was a crazy feat... an hours worth of music mused/sketched out/recorded/edited/mixed in around 7 days. Its a beautiful little film! Keep an eye/ear out! http://www.thinkaboutitmovie.com

To Be Or Not To Be (from a comedy workshop at AFTRS) features the vocal stylings of he who shall remain unknown. Thank you.

The first 2 tracks were beautifully brought to life by the genius that is Geir Gunnarsson (aka- Pearldivers of the Subconcious). What miracle mixing he does!

I am graciously thankful for the sweetness and precision these artists brought to my scores xx

Sounds Like: Most of the files uploaded here have been conceived/played/recorded within a very short space of time, so are occasionally messy and unrefined... but sometimes thats how I like things to be. Authentic, straight from an inpulse...

At the moment, all compositions are from films or somesuch that I have had the pleasure to work on.
