nEON bLUE sUNSHINE

Hello i'm Taith Powell. I'm a writer. I haven't had formal training, purely because i want to explore the diy route to filmmaking. I know it's hard work but i'm dedicated and really passionate about my what i do. This approach has worked for some filmmakers for whom i have tremendous respect, namely linklater and tarantino; the works they've produced have been and continues to be pure genius . I hope this approach might yield some positve results for me to...fingers crossed. When it comes to watching films, i do enjoy the element of surprise, if i figure out the twist of a thriller half way through the viewing, i become really peed off (at which point walking out the cinema is very likely). Be it in a shocking or surprising way, i just want to see something i had never seen before, or done in a way that is entirely original. I am a huge fan of films from the far east; japanese, chinese (and hong kong) Taiwan and korean. A lot of the stuff from these countries are exciting and innovative, and have had a prfoundly influential impact on my aesthetic. I'm a huge fan of arthouse and independent cinema in all there incarnations. On the other hand I do enjoy good films from major Hollywood studios.I will be posting some of my work on here soon... so please look out for it.
