WSU Hip Hop Congress

About Me

Hip Hop Congress is a national organization with 30 plus chapters across college campuses and high schools nationwide. Wayne State Chapter was established as a student chapter in May of 2006. We are the first and only chapter in the city of Detroit as well as the state of Michigan.
Mission Statement and Objectives
Here at Hip Hop Congress we create resources for local "artists", who are trying to become successful in the music industry. There is so much talent in Detroit, yet they go unheard outside of local radio stations, during late time spans. We are striving to do what we can to help change that. In regards to our community, we want to encourage ad hopefully influence our youth, and fellow students to become more involved with their community. To take action, and become conscious community organizers. As always, our main objective is to educate through music, using the positive aspect of the hip hop culture and not so much as the negativity that the media seems to love to display. Here in Hip Hop Congress we embrace the elements of hip hop: Dee jaying, poetry, break- dancing, and Graffiti Art. We can be reached at 313-281-1819 or [email protected] by EditingMySpace.com
