.....................BIOGRAPHY: New Jersey-born CHINAHBLAC
is a breath taking singer/songwriter whose powerful
voice and presence are quickly making a mark on
the world of music. As one of the most sought after
and fast emerging vocalist to hit the modern landscape,
CHINAHBLAC boasts a vocal range wide
as her ever-present smile and diverse as her
changing emotions.
Chinah attended the School of Performing Arts
in Newark, New Jersey where she started
perfecting her craft. After leaving high school,
she attended Texas Southern University to
study vocal performance in Opera. Since
then, CHINAH's vocal styling have backed
such artists as Lauryn Hill, Bilal, Kelis,
Dave Hollister, The Dave Matthew's
Band and Erykah Badu to name a few.
CHINAHBLAC along with her band,
"The Collective" has opened for
artists such as Common, Anthony
Hamilton, Floetry, Bilal, Chico
Debarge, Musiq Soulchild, Erykah
Badu, and many others.
With a commanding stage presence
and unrelenting vocals,
CHINAH's vocals spill over
with attitude, leaving you
thirsting for more, all the
while she moves pretty as a
peacock. Ironic, she's the
first to admit, "My music if
far from pretty". Raw and
uncut, AGGRESSIVE
SOUL is how she
describes it, and style is
likened to that of
Chaka Khan, "one of
the coldest artists
ever," states
