Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and the surrounding areas, Various grew up around Electronic Music and Underground Hip Hop and has crafted his style as a jack of all trades producer and DJ. Effortlessly juggling Detroit techno, House, Drum N' Bass and Rap beats, Various sets the precedence for excellence with his first class production style and straight up banging mixes. His set blurs the line between a live set and a typical DJ set. He goes back and forth and matches beats that he produced with tracks on vinyl spinning on his turntables.“I love it all†says Various from his new location in Los Angeles. “I just couldn’t confine myself to one genre of music.†While Various plays many different styles of music, he does not attempt to combine the different styles into one conglomerate. Instead he lets each breathe with its own identity. “I grew up liking all types of shit..†Says DJ Various. “I didn’t wanna put out a different album for all of the different genres of music that I feel.. I'm a producer and I love spinning records, it's just what I do. But I figured most cats are like me anyways and listen to different stuff.â€Despite the fact that he is influenced by so many different styles of music, his music ironically doesn’t neatly fit into any of them. One track could be a social commentary over a hip hop beat. While the next track feels like you’re at an old school rave in a Detroit or Chicago warehouse circa 1993. He seems to have covered all of his bases and is someone to keep and eye on.
