and Asia many times (Eastern Europe has some amazing festivals & I love playing in the UK) I've also played
almost every major city in North America (I With that being said, I am not just a drum n bass DJ-- I play hip hip, electro, funk, soul, 80s, 90s, disco & anything bumpin.
Production/Engineering credits include a remix of the Roy Ayers classic "We Live In Brooklyn"- entitled "Brooklyn Baby"
(which was recently licensed to the HBO film "Life Support" staring Queen Latifah & produced by Jamie Foxx,
written & directed by Nelson George), 4 songs off the last Blondie LP "The Curse of Blondie" on Sony UK, remix work for
the band Sonny Boy, a collaboration under the name Triadd (with Ufo! & Dj Sage) on Skunkrock Recordings UK, a mix CD on
Topaz Records entitled "Stateside Sessions", all the songs on my page and other drum n bass and electro songs.
MC Kay
Almost FamousFrom the time Kay could speak she was singing. Along with dancing, playing the piano, acting and basically
anything artistic. She was always looking for the next concert, talent show or choir to join.
As her astrological sign Leo, she couldn’t be more cliché. Artistic, loves the spotlight, stubborn, bursting with energy
and consistently smiling. All of these factors added up when she graduated from school at the age of 17 and decided
to move from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to the complete opposite side of Canada to pursue her music career. It became
even clearer to family and friends that she was driven to succeed.
Voted most likely to be famous in her high school yearbook I believe they were on to something…
It was a year and half and Kay's music had developed remarkably. Her sound is powerful, yet sultry. Her lyrics tell the story
that only an old soul could know. She puts words to the emotions that flow through our minds, hearts and souls.
Shortly after moving to Victoria British Columbia, Kay started to concentrate more on becoming a drum & bass vocalist & MC.
Still pursuing her pop music along side. Kay says “Being a female pop artist doesn’t limit me to just that genre! You are only
limited by your own views and ideasâ€. Kay’s musical background ranges from Marilyn Manson to Aretha Franklin and every
thing in between. “I think this is what creates originality and it creates a balanced artist. Like the saying goes, “the wise
man knew that he knew nothing at allâ€, I am always looking for new ways to learn from other artists. I try to have the open
mind of a new comer and the confidence of an accomplished artistâ€.
In 2005 Kay teamed up with Vancouver’s number one Dj, Dj B Traits to form the first female drum & bass duo.
Two years later with numerous shows, world tours and a drum & bass album in the works this is only the beginning for this talented Canadian.plus
