About Me

--- UNDER CONSTRUCTION ------------Iiy en hotep...! Welcome to Waset, the Pearl of the Two Lands, the House of the Warrior Gods. Be welcome, oh people, under the Sign of Goddess Sejmet, She Who is Powerful, the Eye of Re, Lady of Chaos and War, Healer of the Ancient Lands ~
Iy em hotep!, in the sacred Name of My Father Amon, Lord of the thrones of the earth, the oldest Existence, Ancient of heaven, Support of all things; Chief of the gods, Lord of truth; Father of the gods, Maker of men and beasts and herbs; Maker of all things above and below...
My Name is Hatshepsut Maat Ka Re, Queen of Egypt, Pharaoh of the Two Lands and Beloved of Amon - who may live eternally.I never thought I should have the need of writing this memoirs of Mine, but the circumstances are forcing Me to do it – and My instinct tells me I am doing the right thing. So I assure these words come from My very heart and hands, that I have been my own scribe – and that all that has been written here in these papyrus are the true and only story of My Majesty Hatshepsut MaatKaRe, Pharaoh of Egypt ~ long life, prosperity and health.
Being a good Queen is not an easy task; but to become a good king is even more difficult. Sacrifice takes part of your daily routine - the same way that praying to the gods or burning incense in the Temple does.I know My people think, usually, that We kings and queens have a sweet easy life, where all We have to do is doing what We will – without disturbing too much the fragile balance of Ma’at… I cannot blame them though for these thoughts, because it is true that some so-called “kings” have fed this belief with their irresponsibility; my husband Tutmes the Second, for instance.
But it is not always this way; We, kings and queens of the Two Lands, are used to bare with that spirit of sacrifice that makes Us strong – even when Our people does not always value this ability. Now see.... Tutmes the Third, my nephew-son, who I always treated with love and respect, has finally rebelled against Me; and My heart knows that, when I start My last trip to the West, he will destroy all My works and shall erase My testimony in this holy land the gods love deeply…
I also know that, in spite of all his efforts, there is something that belongs to Me and not even Tutmose the Third shall dare to detroy: My Temple, My ~djeser djeseru~, sublime of sublimes… the Pride of My Majesty. Through it, no matter hos many times I die, I shall always remain alive in the Memory of men and gods; and with Me, beyond Tutmes’ fury, shall be Senmut, Neferure and all my beloved ones.
I just wait and hope that My Temple is able to transmit my memory as if my own ka was specking through every stone. But in case My spirit kept quiet, I’ve decided to write down my story. I have confidence and know that, if they were needed someday for My soul, the gods would lead them to the right hands. That way, it shall be re- established the Glory that is being stolen from My majesty so unfairly.Time shall stop before My Temple, the same way it stopped before the Pyramids. The great monuments of My beloved country shall keep being a part of the history, yes… but My Temple, it shall be History itself.

My Interests

My beautiful Two Lands, My beloved Kingdom. Evolution of Mankind... Ancient History, especially about all those kings who ruled before My Majesty. ART. Literature. Good conversations too.

I'd like to meet:

I don't know what have brought you here, but even if it was only boredom or just curiosity, be welcome to the Ancient Egyptian God's Realm. My name is Laylah, once known as Hatshepsut Maa'Kare. Many centuries have passed, many changes in the world; the dreams of the ancient civilization only remain in our hearts - and in a few ruins all over the world… But it doesn't mean a thing in the end; some things never change, some things are always kept inside the souls… lest we forget the past.

~My daughters Neferure and Meryet; my beloved Senmut, love of all my lives. Those who helped me to save Neferure (Kameni and Merit-re).
Neferu-re...

Senmut...

Senmut and Neferu...

~ We still live in a world of chaos and wars, and only the names have changed. But I miss the old way of living, our traditions, those Gods come from nowhere to protect or fight Mankind. Many religions all over the earth, many promises and hopes… I cannot give you promises, but I can share my precious memories of the Old Times with you. I won't promise you Heaven, though I will tell you about Amenti and why a heart should feel weightless as a feather when it's the time for facing Anubis… I won't tell you about dying gods or broken dreams, because once upon a time our world didn't need them to evolve into a better one.

We still live in a world of chaos and wars… so we still have the same needs: to fight and to feel safe – knowing we are never alone. Some of us have remained, some of us have gone like a leave in the blowing wind… This is a place for those who know, or at least for those who once knew, about the Ancient Gods… for those who travelled across time and distances just looking for coming back HOME… to the Old Times, to the Age of Innocence.
So in the Name of my Father Amon I welcome you if you decide to stay, and give you my farewell if you decide to go away and never return… go in peace anyway. Maybe some time, if you feel the need of coming back HOME, we shall meet again…

Music:

Music amazes me. The sounds of tambourines and the Hathoric sistrum make my heart beat faster.... I adore those Nubian dancers, the way they shake their hips and clap their hands at the same time... I know Tutmose, my husband, loved the dancers as well. In fact, his second wife Iset (mother of Tutmes the Third) was nothing but a simple dancer... *sigh*

Movies:

Movies..? What is it...? Sounds like something amazing but... I think I don't know that term yet! So I guess I shall have to use a mirror to contemplate Myself until movies are invented... :p

Television:

Television...! Oh, such amazing words you modern people have...! No I don't know about it either... yet! :)

Books:

UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
That Book you modern people call nowadays "The Book of the Dead"... Then "The story of Sinuhe" (the old one, not Mika Waltari's one!). "The teachings of Ptah-hotep" and "The teachings for Merikare" amaze Me, though I had to copy them once and again and again when I was studying at the KEP with the other royal children... *sighs* ~ "The eloquent peasant", a very good propagandistic work of art on Politics... "Prophecies of Neferty" are cool too ~ that king Ameny really rocks ;)

Heroes:

Senmut~

My Majesty~

My Father Tutmes the First. My Mother Queen Ahmes... Queen Ahhotep.

Kamose. Ahmose and Ahmose-Nefertary. Imhotep. The Old Kingdom period Kings (Jafre, Menkaure, Jufu. I shall love King Ramesses the Second eventually, but He still has not been born right now (in My Dinasty, the 18th) so I shall have to wait for a while to know of Him ;)

My Blog
